Starting your Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) journey is exciting!! One of the first decisions you’ll face is choosing between a Basic or Premium seller account. TPT recently updated its pricing structure, and here’s what you need to know before you dive in:
Basic Seller Account
(One-Time Fee)
Cost: $29.99 (one-time fee to open a seller account)
Payout: You earn 55% of each sale
Transaction Fee: $0.30 per sale
Features:
Ability to upload and sell products
Basic sales reports
Limited tools for growth
🧠 Good for dabbling in your TPT journey, but the fees can eat into your earnings quickly if you plan to sell regularly. Also if you purchase the basic account and then later decide to switch to the premium one, your $29.99 is not rolled over to the $59.95 fee.
Premium Seller Account
(Annual Subscription)
Cost: $59.95 per year
Payout: You earn 80% of each sale
Transaction Fee: $0.15 per sale
Features:
Access to advanced sales and traffic reports
The ability to run sales and promotions
Better profit margins and tools to grow your store

🧐 My Recommendation?
If you're serious about turning your resources into profit, the Premium Seller Account is the best investment. The higher payout and lower transaction fees make a big difference, especially as your store grows.
